Vendredi 23 novembre, l’ADVR, en partenariat avec l’UCFAF (Union culturelle française des Arméniens de France) a proposé une conférence sur le thème : « L’art pour transmettre la mémoire des génocides ». La conférencière, Francine Mayran est psychiatre et artiste et chez elle profession et art sont intimement liés. Le traitement des douleurs individuelles l’a amenée à se pencher sur les douleurs collectives et à peindre des scènes de la Shoah, du génocide arménien, du génocide des Tutsis ou des Yésidis… Et tout naturellement son travail l’a amenée à revenir du général au particulier et donc à peindre des visages. Visages de victimes, visages de survivants, visages de combattants, visages de justes.

Francine Mayran a installé, pour illustrer son propos une petite exposition de huit de ses oeuvres, magnifiques de force et d’une grande qualité artistique. Nous avons pu voir en particulier les visages d’Elie Wiesel, d’Ida Grinspan, d’Arsène Tchakarian, mais aussi ceux de deux victimes de la haine raciale qui sévit chez nous aujourd’hui, celui de Mireille Knoll et celui du colonel Arnaud Beltame assassinés le même jour.
