L’Association de Défense des Valeurs de la Résistance tient à montrer l’émotion qui est la sienne face à la recrudescence des actes et affirmations antisémites dans notre pays. La mémoire courte des uns , le développement de la peur irrationnelle d’autres peut-être d’ailleurs des mêmes, la haine qui ne fait que croître faute d’éducation, montrent la nécessité du travail de notre association. Tout en s’attachant à la défense des valeurs de la Résistance, il est nécessaire pour nous de montrer sans relâche ce qu’ont été les conséquences de l’antisémitisme qui a entaché si longtemps l’Histoire de l’humanité avant de culminer pendant la dernière guerre mondiale. C’est d’ailleurs pourquoi l’année dernière, l’ADVR a centré son action autour du thème des enfants cachés en travaillant avec le Comité Tlemcen.

C’est aussi pourquoi l’ADVR travaille sur l’Histoire. Chacun sait qu’un peuple qui oublie son Histoire est condamné à la revivre sous une forme ou sous une autre. C’est ce qui se produit aujourd’hui à cause, notamment de l’inquiétant appauvrissement des programmes d’Histoire dans les lycées et les collèges. Il ne sert à rien de dire : « mais que font les enseignants ? », de dire« l’école va faire ceci, va faire cela » quand on ne lui donne pas les moyens de le faire ou, pire, quand on lui enlève les moyens dont elle disposait.

Nous tenons également à faire un point de vocabulaire qui ne nous semble pas inutile quand, même des élus, assimilent l’antisionisme à l’antisémitisme. Il s’agit de deux notions absolument différentes, les termes ne signifient pas la même chose politiquement, historiquement. L’antisémitisme recouvre une notion religieuse et raciste, l’antisionisme est une notion politique. Les juifs antisionistes, et ils sont nombreux, seraient-ils antisémites?

C’est absurde.

Notre tâche, en tant qu’association attachée aux valeurs de la liberté, de l’égalité et de la fraternité, est immense et nous ne nous découragerons pas. Pas plus que dans des conditions autrement dramatiques, les résistants ne se sont pas découragés.
