Commandant de la 14° Brigade internationale en Espagne, colonel FTP, Jules Dumont a été fusillé au Mont Valérien le 15 juin 1943.

Née en 1957 à Rabat, Françoise Demougin-Dumont est agrégée des Lettres, professeure des universités émérite en littérature et sciences du langage. Après une thèse sur l’écrivain André Hardellet, elle a centré ses activités d’enseignement et de recherche sur trois domaines : l’enseignement de la langue française et de la littérature, la construction du sujet-lecteur et la littérature de jeunesse. Elle travaille depuis 2014 sur la vie et les engagements de Jules Dumont, son grand-père, auquel elle a consacré un premier livre : La promesse de l’oubli, publié en 2017 aux éditions Tirésias-Michel Reynaud.
