Inauguration de l’espace Noëlla Rouget au lycée Carnot-Bertin de Saumur

Le 28 avril 2022 avec 2 membres de l’Amicale Chateaubriand-Voves-Rouillé-Aincourt nous avons pu assister à l’inauguration de l’espace Noëlla Rouget au lycée Carnot-Bertin de Saumur et découvrir la magnifique exposition hommage à cette grande humaniste et Résistante née le 25 décembre 1919 à Saumur. Cet évènement était orchestré par les élèves de première bac-pro Relation Client et terminale bac-pro Cuisine. L’exposition est le résultat d’un travail de 2 années des élèves encadrés par leurs 2 professeurs M. Barre et Mme Bossard.

S’étaient déplacés spécialement de Suisse pour ce moment de Mémoire Patrick Rouget un des deux fils de Noëlla Rouget et Brigitte Exchaquet-Monnier et Eric Monnier, auteurs de Noëlla Rouget la déportée qui a fait gracier son bourreau (Editions Tallandier, 2020), était également présent Aubin Hellot, auteur et réalisateur pour les Films du Large qui travaille actuellement à un documentaire autour de Noëlla Rouget.

Noëlla Rouget née Peaudeau le 25 décembre 1919 à Saumur, vit à Angers où elle devient institutrice. Dès 1941 elle entre dans la résistance comme agente de liaison au sein du mouvement gaullien « Honneur et Patrie ». Elle se fiance avec Adrien Tigeot, également instituteur et résistant au sein du réseau communiste « Front National ». Adrien est arrêté le 7 juin 1943, torturé et fusillé le 13 décembre 1943. Noëlla est appréhendée chez elle le 21 juin, emprisonnée à Angers, transférée à Compiègne et enfin déportée à Ravensbrück par le convoi du 31 janvier 1944. Libérée le 5 avril 1945, elle sera soignée dans un sanatorium en Suisse, où elle se marie en 1947.

L’un des hommes de la Gestapo, qui participe à leur arrestation est un Français, Jacques Vasseur, collabo zélé qui entre 1942 et 1944 sera responsable de 430 arrestations, 310 déportations et 230 fusillés ou morts en déportation. « Evanoui » à la Libération, il est arrêté par hasard dans le Nord en novembre 1962 dans le grenier de sa mère où il se terrait depuis 17 ans. Son procès s’ouvre devant la Cour de sûreté de l’Etat , le 20 octobre 1965, qui le condamne à la guillotine.

Mais opposée à la peine de mort, Noëlla s’élève contre cette sentence et supplie le général de Gaulle d’accorder sa grâce et l’obtient en février 1966. Incomprise de ses camarades, elle répond aux reproches dans une lettre « de quel droit juger un homme si, placés aujourd’hui à notre tour en position de force, nous nous comportons comme il fit hier« . A la fin des années 1970, elle se joint à une campagne pour l’élargissement des derniers collabos emprisonnés, afin de refermer cette page de l’histoire. Vasseur est libéré en 1983 et ne donne aucun signe de vie. Il meurt en Allemagne en 2009, sans avoir jamais exprimé le moindre remord.
