L’ADVR rend hommage à Rol-Tanguy

Mercredi 12 février 2020, l’ADVR a présenté une conférence filmée du Colonel Rol-Tanguy sur la libération de Paris.
Cette conférence a été filmée au lycée Hélène Boucher où le Colonel était venu en 1996 évoquer son action dans les jours décisifs de l’insurrection qui a permis de libérer la capitale et d’y rétablir les institutions républicaines. Ce témoignage, particulièrement précieux puisqu’il émane de l’homme qui, au nom du CNR et de sa commission militaire le COMAC, a organisé, dirigé et mené à bien l’insurrection, nous a permis de comprendre comment et pourquoi celle-ci a pu être victorieuse.
En effet, Rol-Tanguy, chef régional des FFI de la région parisienne (Ile -de- France actuelle) depuis juin 1944 était, par ses services de renseignements, parfaitement au courant de l’état des forces allemandes: 20 000 soldats allemands démoralisés, commandés par un chef, Von Choltitz, que la radio de Londres menaçait de juger comme criminel de guerre tandis que les Alliés approchaient de Paris… Tout cela permettait de penser que les Allemands ne pourraient pas tenir une ville qui commençait à bouillonner comme le montraient le rassemblement de plus de 100 000 parisiens le 14 juillet et les grèves qui se multipliaient. Le Colonel Rol-Tanguy par ailleurs rappelé les combats de 1789, de 1830, de 1848, de 1871, et la tradition, quand le peuple de Paris ne supporte plus l’oppression, d’édifier des barricades. Les barricades qui se sont dressées, surtout dans les quartiers populaires, ont entravé les mouvements des Allemands très vite confinés dans certains points forts bien retranchés, comme le Luxembourg, la caserne de la République ou le QG de Von Choltitz. Les chars de Leclerc, dont le commandant Gallois envoyé par Rol avait accéléré l’arrivée, ont permis de dégager ces points de résistance et d’accélérer la reddition des Allemands. Mais Paris s’était libérée en grande partie par elle même, par son peuple et par l’action de la Résistance intérieure. Le Colonel Rol est d’ailleurs, aux côtés de Leclerc, signataire de la reddition des Allemands.
Après cela, personne n’aurait pu ne pas appliquer les voeux du CNR inscrits dans le Programme de la Résistance. A la fin du film, l’épouse du Colonel Rol, Cécile, secrétaire et agent de liaison de son mari, a évoqué la vie quotidienne des deux résistants qu’ils étaient et les auditeurs ont également vivement apprécié ce témoignage. La discussion qui a suivi le film a été animée parJean Rol-Tanguy, fils aîné du Colonel Rol, actuellement président du Comité Parisien de la Libération. Il a répondu avec une grande simplicité et beaucoup d’émotion aux questions du très nombreux public. Qu’il en soit vivement remercié.
